Nationals 2021 has now come to an end. This year, we had one representative, Deklyn Davis-Gardner who competed in the NAT 5 Individual Trampoline event. Deklyn finished in 12th place.

We would like to congratulate Deklyn on making the State Team and hope he enjoyed his Nationals experience. Our competitive athletes are now turning their attentions to Levels State Championships which will be held in August.

Time sure flies when you’re having fun! With almost a quarter of the year already gone, the 2021 Trampoline Gymnastics competition season is well under way.

This year, Miranda RSL Youth Club only has one athlete competing in the national stream, Deklyn Davis-Gardner. We are pleased to report that at State Trial 2, held this weekend at SGAC in Rooty Hill, Deklyn placed 4th on Double Mini Trampoline and placed 5th on Individual Trampoline in the NAT Level 5 Mens division. Deklyn’s Individual Trampoline score has also secured his spot on the State Team for the Australian Gymnastics Championships which will be held on the Gold Coast in May.

Congratulations Deklyn!

Yesterday, Gymnastics NSW and Gymnastics Australia announced the decision to cancel or postpone all events between now and July 1, 2020. This includes the Senior State Championships which were due to be held at the beginning of April and the Australian National Championships which would have been held during May in Melbourne. If you would like to read their statements, you may do so by following the links below.

In light of this decision, we thought we would highlight the efforts of our only National Stream athlete this year, Deklyn D-G. 2020 was Deklyn’s first year in National Stream and he competed at both Trial events held earlier this year in the Nat5 group for under 13s. He had hoped to qualify for the State Team in Trampoline and Double Mini and attend Nationals. You can watch Deklyn’s Voluntary routine at the most recent Trial event below. Deklyn will now be re-focusing on skill development and set his sights on Nationals 2021.

Last week, three members of our Karate program along with their sensei travelled to the Sunshine Coast to attend Shotokan Week and the 2018 SKIA National Championships.

Congratulations to all of our athletes for their excellent results at the National Championships! Their placings are listed below.

Amanda B. – 2 Gold

Liam B. – 1 Silver, 1 Bronze

Lucas V. – 2 Gold

We would like to extend a special congratulations to Liam who also passed his Shodan (First Degree Black Belt) during the event. Well done Liam!

Nationals 2018 has now come to an end. Our representative Olivia T. competed in all four Trampoline Gymnastics disciplines in the Female Under 11 division across two long days of fierce competition. Her results are as follows:

Individual Trampoline – 27th

Double Mini Trampoline – 18th

Tumbling – 7th

Synchronised Trampoline – 8th

Team NSW finished 2nd on the medal tally, only narrowly missing out on the top spot.

Olivia is now looking towards Nationals 2019 and is hoping to come away with even better results.

Even though we are a primarily recreational club, we love seeing athletes come up through our junior classes and go on to succeed competitively! Congratulations Olivia!

The countdown is on! The Australian Gymnastics Championships are now only a few weeks away. This year the Youth Club has one representative on the NSW State Team, Olivia T., who will be competing in Individual Trampoline, Double Mini and Tumbling in the U11 Women’s division.

This is Olivia’s first year in National Stream and she has been working very hard to upgrade her skills and perfect her routines for competition. Olivia is also our Club’s second athlete to qualify for Tumbling since we first established our dedicated Tumbling program last year. You can have a look at Olivia in action earlier this year by clicking the video below. You can also jump over to our Instagram page to see how far Olivia has progressed in the last 2 years.

We wish Olivia the best of luck for the rest of her Nationals journey. For more information about the National Championships including tickets, you can visit their website by clicking here.
