ANZAC DAY DAWN SERVICE

25TH OF APRIL, 2022

ANZAC Day is a chance to pay tribute to those who have served and to thank those who continue to serve today. This year, the Miranda RSL Sub-Branch is once again hosting an ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Miranda War Memorial. Youth Club members are strongly encouraged to attend.

Youth Club members are to meet at the front door of Miranda RSL Youth Club at 5:30am to march at 5:45am. Breakfast will be provided after the service. Please wear Club uniform. 

Volunteers are needed to help with the Community BBQ breakfast. Please see Robert Bull at the Youth Club or ring 9522 0484 or 0427 944 379 if you can assist.

Thank you to everyone who came down to the Youth Club this morning to help install our brand new beds! The new Trampoline beds were purchased pre-COVID for our EuroTramp Trampolines and come with up-to-date horizontal displacement markings to assist our advanced athletes in their competition preparation.

The Youth Club AGM was held on Wednesday the 9th of March at Miranda Diggers. Ann Corey-Hewitt has stepped down as President and will remain on the committee as a General Committee Member. Michelle Ireland has also stepped down from her role.

We are pleased to announce that John Boes has been elected President. Congratulations John!

The next Youth Club Committee Meeting will be held on Wednesday the 16th of March from 8pm at 11 Graham Avenue, Miranda. All welcome.

Only two more days until classes resume at Miranda RSL Youth Club and we can’t wait! In order to protect the health of our members, we will be enforcing a range of safety measures including:

  • Limiting capacity to one person per 2 square metres.
  • Mandatory masks for all staff and patrons aged 12 or older. Athletes are not required to wear masks while training however must put their mask back on as soon as their class has finished.
  • COVID Safe Check-in, temperature checks and hand sanitation upon entry to the Youth Club.
  • Daily cleaning of equipment and regular cleaning of communal facilities and high touch surfaces.

Please do not enter the Youth Club if:

  • you or an immediate family member has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • you or an immediate family member has symptoms of COVID-19 (including fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath).

The 2022 Miranda RSL Youth Club Class Timetable has now been published. Some changes to the Trampoline and Tumbling Timetable have been made in accordance with enrolment numbers and coach availability. The changes are as follows:

  • The Wednesday 4pm and 5pm General Ability Classes have been canceled. Returning athletes from these classes are encouraged to contact Head Coach Robert Bull to secure their position in an equivalent class on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.
  • The Thursday 6pm Tumbling Class has been extended half an hour and will now finish at 7:30pm.

There have been no changes to the Karate timetable.

We would like to thank all our members for their patience during this challenging time. Regular classes are scheduled to resume on Monday the 31st January 2022.

With no end in sight to the Greater Sydney lockdown, Miranda RSL Youth Club will be introducing online strength training for intermediate to advanced athletes who wish to maintain their fitness during our prolonged closure. These classes will be free for all Youth Club members and run on Zoom by our Advanced Class coaches from 6:45-7:30pm Monday and Tuesday.


To attend a strength training session, please send an email to mirandarslyc@gmail.com with the subject ‘Zoom Training’ and we will forward the link to you on the day.

As you will no doubt be aware, the NSW Government today announced a week-long extension to the Greater Sydney Lockdown. As a result, the Youth Club will remain closed, with Term 3 classes now scheduled to resume on Monday the 19th of July.

Following today’s announcement by the NSW Premier, several changes to class structure and procedure will come into effect from 4pm this afternoon.

Miranda RSL Youth Club will once again limit capacity in accordance with the 4 square metre rule and will be limiting group sizes within classes. In order to further reduce the risk of transmission, we will also be reintroducing our ‘Drop, Train, Leave’ policy and will no longer provide a dedicated viewing area for parents and siblings.

We will be continuing to perform temperature checks on arrival, enforce social distancing during classes and sanitise equipment regularly. Furthermore, coaches will once again be required to wear a mask. There is no requirement for athletes however they are welcome to wear a mask if they wish.

Please pay close attention to the list of case locations on the NSW Health website and stay up-to-date with the latest restrictions and advice. As always, athletes must not attend training under the following circumstances:

  • if they are unwell or have COVID-19 symptoms (including fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath).
  • if an immediate family member is unwell or has COVID-19 symptoms.
  • if they have recently attended a COVID-19 Hotspot as listed on the NSW Health Website.
  • or if they have been advised by health authorities to self isolate or have returned from overseas within 14 days.
