NSWCHS Blue – Kyle Rogers

Miranda RSL Youth Club would like to congratulate member Kyle Rogers on receiving a NSWCHS Blue for Trampoline Sports.

The Blue is the highest school sporting award a student can receive and is awarded for outstanding sporting ability to individuals who have represented their school, region or state with great sportsmanship. Athletes must be nominated for the award by their School or Team Manager. Recipients are then selected via a committee with only a handful of Blues awarded each year.

Kyle is the first disability student to receive this award.

Kyle is a dedicated member of the Youth Club and a six year member of the Sydney East Combined High Schools Trampoline Team. Kyle competes in the Multi-Class Boys division and has placed at least once in every year he has competed. In 2018, his final year on the Sydney East team, he achieved the following outstanding results:

1st Trampoline

1st Single Mini

2nd Double Mini

2nd Tumbling

Kyle is a dedicated athlete and an asset to the Youth Club. We commend Kyle on his achievement.

Congratulations to our two athletes who competed at the Spring State Levels Championships over the past weekend. Both our competitors had very good competitions, Anastasia G. placed 3rd in level 6 Trampoline and Olivia T. placed 10th in the hotly contested level 4 Tumbling.

This concludes the 2018 Trampoline and Tumbling competition season. Our competitive athletes will now be looking to upgrade their routines in preparation for the 2019 season. You’ll be able to see our athletes in action at our December Display Day so make sure to keep an eye out on this page for more details, you won’t want to miss it!

JUNIOR COACH EDUCATION SESSION

Over the weekend, the Youth Club ran another in-house education session for our Junior Coaches. This session focused on practical skills such as identifying skill progressions, basic spotting and circuit building.

Like our previous sessions, this was run as part of our junior coach mentor program and we hope that this will assist them in their role at the Youth Club and will help guide them as they progress through the Gymnastics Australia accreditation process.

A special thank you to our wonderful athlete demonstrators who came along to help out.
