Yesterday, Gymnastics NSW and Gymnastics Australia announced the decision to cancel or postpone all events between now and July 1, 2020. This includes the Senior State Championships which were due to be held at the beginning of April and the Australian National Championships which would have been held during May in Melbourne. In light of this decision, we thought we would highlight the efforts of our only National Stream athlete this year, Deklyn D-G. 2020 was Deklyn’s first year in National Stream and he competed at both Trial events held earlier this year in the Nat5 group for under 13s. He had hoped to qualify for the State Team in Trampoline and Double Mini and attend Nationals. You can watch Deklyn’s Voluntary routine at the most recent Trial event below. Deklyn will now be re-focusing on skill development and set his sights on Nationals 2021.

Please note that the 2020 Miranda RSL ANZAC Day Dawn Service has been cancelled due to concerns regarding Coronavirus.

Term 1 2020 classes resume today!

Here’s just a quick reminder that Miranda RSL Youth Club is an Active Kids provider.

Active Kids is a NSW Government initiative that provides two $100 vouchers for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs each year.

To redeem your discount, please bring your voucher when paying your term fees.

Over the past week, a number of our coaches have given up their time to help clean up the gym in preparation for classes resuming on the 28th of January. This year the gym was particularly dirty due to the extensive amount of dust and ash in the air over the summer holidays, blown into the gym through ageing plastic windows and faulty doors. We are currently in contact with the council and hope to have the windows and doors repaired by March to better protect our equipment from the elements.

The entire gym was covered in a thin layer of dust and ash.

Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping all done.
