Instructor: Sensei Michael O'Keefe (5th Dan) founded Karate in Lismore over 30 years ago. He has now commenced full-time karate teaching and consulting to professional karate schools.
He has coached successfully from club to national level and he holds a Bachelor Degree in Sport Studies (Coaching) from Canberra University in association with the Australian Institute of Sport.
Former Queensland State and then National Coaching Director for the Australian Karate Federation (AKF) for a period of ten years up to 2003. He developed and delivered the Level 1 and 2 coaching curriculum for AKF Karate coaches under the Australian Sports Commission National Coaching Accreditation Scheme. In 1998 he was awarded Coach of the Year by the AKF. He is a member of the AKF High Performance Program Management Committee.
